Trigger is an open and flexible mechanism that you can set up automatic actions following with preconditions. A big advantage of trigger is that you can create without limit the action you want to happen. But sometimes the advantage becomes disadvantage when users find it lost and confused or they just don’t know how to start or which one is good for their business.


So Subiz lists here several common triggers that we think they can be applied for many situations:


1. Auto message


You won’t waste your time and energy to say “Hi” to every visitor.


- Presenting greeting messages after a (short) period of time:


For example: Select condition Time on site, set >= Greater than or Equal to 60 s. Save change. After 1 minute from the time visitor is on your site, greeting message will be showed up.

You can also calculate the perfect moment to greet your visitors to make sure the high possibility of responding.


- Presenting multilanguage greeting messages for visitors from different countries:


Does it sound professional when you greet your visitor by their own languages?

You want to say “Xin chào” for Vietnamese visitor or “hello” for English speaking visitor? You just need create 2 triggers like following example:

Just remember sometimes people don’t say the language where they’re in. So be sure to pick up the right message.


- Presenting message to visitors on a certain page:


Imagine your website contains many types of products on many pages: shoe, Tshirt, dress etc. So every time visitor look at a specific page, like Shoe, you can send message for them with the content, for example: We’ve just updated many new brand shoes. Would you like to see?


Then you can track visitor everywhere on your website without worrying not supporting them enough. Let’s see how I did to targeting visitor on “Shoe” page here:






- Presenting message to visitors who use specific device:


You can approach visitors depending on different devices (mobile, tablet, desktop etc).

2. Using trigger to label visitors


With the problem that your site has too many visitors or pages sometimes you don’t know how to control and classify them effectively. Now you can use trigger to label visitors. Here are three situations I’ve done that you can refer:


- Label visitor according to product category:

Come back to the websites containing many product’s types. You now can label visitor by products while they’re caring about the specific items on your site.


For example:

Label visitors by Shoes, Tshirt, Dress etc.

Not easily sort out visitors but also is good way to analyze business effectiveness like how many visitors pay attention to a specific product daily. Since then you can make some adjustments to improve the sales.


- Label visitor according to visitor type:


Maybe visitors come to your website without buying anything at the first time. So when they come back, make sure that you know and support them with the idea that they didn’t buy anything last time so it’s time to convince them purchase something.


Divide your visitors into 2 groups: new or return. You will be going in a right direction to reach visitors.

- Label website (applying to a small business that has more than 1 website):


As you know with only one Subiz account you can install chat widget on as many websites as you have. So how to identify visitors when they from these websites appear on your visitor list. The answer is so simple. You just need to label them. And now every visitor from every single website is divided into specific groups.

Keep labeling on website 2, 3, or more.

Be aware that once you set label for visitor, if you want to remove it, you have to create trigger “Remove label”. There’s no edit or delete for label set up.
